Climate Monitoring with Satellite Data
Climate has been changing over the years, but according to researchers, never as fast as now. How to measure and understand these processes? There are plenty of methods, but the most crucial information comes from those which track changes constantly, just like satellites do. The Earth Observation system provides reliable and objective package of a digital and quantitative description of past and current situations.
Water Analysis on CREODIAS
Satellite data has many attributes, both spectral and spatial ones, providing adequate information for oceans, seas, coastal areas, mangroves and any other water bodies. CREODIAS data catalogue provides resources for water analysis in all dimensions, from local to global and from visible to radar techniques. Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) products available via CREODIAS platform are particularly dedicated to water application. The article below examines the variety of these products and presents the opportunities they offer.
SOLUTIONS FOR ATMOSPHERIC ANALYSIS
CREODIAS provides access to atmospheric parameters and characteristics and offers tools that help to transform relevant information into key knowledge for environmental management. In particular, the platform gives access to the data from a flagship Copernicus satellite for atmospheric applications, Sentinel-5P, as well as Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) products, and provides cloud computing environment for processing this data.
Example of tool usage
INSPIRE SEARCH tab gives you the possibility to discover CREODIAS datasets (products) by browsing through ISO19115/INSPIRE (2007/2/EC) directive compliant information by chosen criteria.
GPU Use Case
Graphics Processing Units (GPU) are recently the biggest source of computing power. They were developed as a specialized tool for processing of images mainly in gaming. But currently they are applied in a growing number of CPU heavy applications: not only related to picture processing but also to artificial intelligence and others.
CREODIAS FOR LAND AND AGRICULTURE MONITORING DATA
Copernicus program priorities are to gain from Earth Observation techniques and make research, administration, agriculture, economy, environmental protection of our lands easier, cheaper and more effective. Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) constitute rich data hub with archival and near real time environmental resources. CREODIAS platform make accessible CLMS products over S3 or NFS protocol moreover […]
Processing and Storing EO
We present the scenario in which VMs and physical servers, provisioned in long term contracts, connect to the EO data via Data Services and then process the data and the resulting products are again saved to the big data EO Data Store and added to the search indexes. The final results can be then accessed by other Third Parties. The Third Party can access its environment via a VPN as a Service module.
Embedding OGC WMS Services into Your website
Third Party runs VMs that access EO data via OGC WMS interface and then serve WWW services that contain embedded EO data elements to the external Users.
