The main idea of the CREODIAS platform is based on putting close together a big data repository and customer accessible big processing power.
The EO Data repository contains Sentinel-1, 2, 3 and 5-P, Landsat-5, 7, 8, Envisat and many Copernicus Services data. The infrastructure and the services offered are optimized for use of Earth Observation data and support scientific, operational and commercial applications.

Background story
In 2017 European Space Agency, acting on behalf of the European Commission, signed a CREODIAS contract with a consortium led by Creotech Instruments S.A. which includeded CloudFerro, Wroclaw Institute of Spatial Information and Artificial Intelligence (WIZIPISI), Geomatys, Eversis and Sinergise. CREODIAS was one of the five DIAS platforms (Data and Information Access Services) that facilitated and standardised access to Copernicus Earth Observation data, as well as to processing tools. CloudFerro played a key role in the project being responsible for building, developing and operating EO data repository (data acquisition, storage and disemination) as well as providing cloud services for data processing.
Within 5 years from its launch in 2018, CREODIAS has gained over 20 000 registered users from 190 countries, and it is now offering over 36 PB of locally available EO data with daily increase of over 26TB.
CREODIAS is the first commercial element of the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem building on the experiences described above. We will continuously enhance CREODIAS with additional features and services like e.g. CloudFerro cloud new regions, Open Telekom Cloud, Sentinel Hub, OpenEO, additional data and much more.
