CREODIAS – the continuation of services and development plans (further information)
At the end of the year we would like to share with you our plans for CREODIAS development. The most important points are:
🔸 CREODIAS will continue providing the current Data Offer as described on https://creodias.eu/data-offer with already over 25 PB of Copernicus products available online and continue its extension. As described in the Data Offer: we will ingest and keep up-to-date fresh data and will keep a growing repository of historical data. We even plan to extend our historical data coverage (e.g. with full Sentinel-2 L2A coverage for the whole world). We are also growing our cache spaces – so that our users can have their specific data online as well.
🔸 CloudFerro, as the CREODIAS operator, will keep and develop IaaS secure services as described on https://creodias.eu/computting-cloud with new developments such as:
new more powerful GPU equipment including NVIDIA A100 and RX A6000
new cloud availability zones
continual introduction of new compute flavours and CPUs
introduction of new versions of k8s and managed k8s services
new customer panel - contract management in one transparent place, instant access to documentation and accounting, invoicing information, improved communication with CREODIAS support team.
🔸 We will provide cloud federation covering identity, access to Earth Observation data and computing power.
🔸 Our users will be able to use massive and complex processing ready to accommodate projects like digital Earth simulation, climate&hazard simulation, etc. heading towards more sustainable economy. We are introducing advanced serverless EO processing tooling that on hand will improve usability of the service and on the other hand will make it more green.
🔸 New sources of data - we are including additional providers of VHR EO data, we are also working to include new sources of data from outside of the EO domain.
🔸 We are extending our support services – we are providing domain specific support for agriculture (Sen4CAP).
